German OnlyFans creator, Susann Alicia is publicly campaigning to play Yamato in Netflix’s One Piece live-action series. She saiid she grew up watching the anime and is “dying” to land the role. The character is a powerful fighter who idolizes a samurai and identifies as a man, a story element Susann says resonates with her own childhood.
Susann has created Yamato cosplay and crafted her giant kanabo weapon. She explains: “I love that Yamato is ridiculously strong. She’s one of the few female characters who can genuinely stand shoulder to shoulder with the strongest men in the series.” She also relates to the character’s gender expression, adding she never fit the “girly girl” box as a kid.
She acknowledges Yamato likely won’t appear in the series for several seasons, but says: “If there’s one thing One Piece has taught us, it’s that dreams are worth chasing, no matter how impossible they seem.”
