Justin Bieber has arrived in New York City ahead of his highly anticipated performance at the FIFA World Cup 2026 final. The Canadian pop star is set to co-headline the historic halftime show on Sunday, July 19, at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, where Spain will face Argentina for the championship. Bieber joins an all-star lineup including Madonna, Shakira, and BTS for the first-ever World Cup final halftime show.
The 32-year-old singer’s arrival comes just days before the 11-minute performance, which has been curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and produced by Global Citizen. Bieber has been making a significant return to the stage in 2026, having headlined Coachella in April and delivering a memorable performance at the Grammy Awards earlier this year. His appearance at the World Cup final marks another major milestone in his career comeback after canceling his Justice world tour due to health issues.
The halftime show supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children worldwide. Over $50 million has already been raised, including $1 from every ticket sold to World Cup matches. Bieber expressed his gratitude in a statement: “The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I’m grateful to be part of this halftime show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world”.
Beyond the big game, Bieber is making the most of his time in New York. His streetwear brand, Skylrk, has opened a pop-up shop in the Meatpacking District, running until July 20, where fans can score exclusive merchandise including the plaid boxers he famously wore during his Grammy performance . The pop-up has drawn massive crowds of “Beliebers,” many of whom admitted they don’t even know which teams are playing the final, they’re just there for Justin.
