Lewis Hamilton Shares Vacation with Kim Kardashian After Family Loss

The Formula 1 champion offered a rare glimpse into his personal life this week, sharing a series of intimate vacation photos with girlfriend Kim Kardashian and her children. The post came just hours after the Kardashian family announced the passing of Kim’s beloved grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, at age 91.

Hamilton’s Instagram carousel showed the couple hiking through woodland trails, swimming in a lake, riding jet skis, and enjoying movie nights together. The Ferrari driver’s niece Willow and nephew Kaiden also joined the family excursion. In one particularly tender image, Hamilton posed alongside Kardashian and her children. Psalm, 7, and Chicago, 8, against a golden sunset backdrop. “Hold your people close,” Hamilton wrote in the caption, a poignant message amplified by the timing of the family’s loss. 

Hamilton and Kardashian, who have been longtime friends, began pursuing a romance earlier this year. Sources close to the couple indicate that Hamilton has been spending meaningful time with Kardashian’s four children, North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7, whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West. The Formula 1 champion, known for his love of children, has reportedly bonded with the kids, who are fascinated by his racing career. Kardashian’s grandmother, Mary Jo Shannon, died just shy of her 92nd birthday. Kris Jenner, Kim’s mother, announced the news on social media, describing MJ as “the heart of our family” and crediting her with teaching the family to “love your family fiercely.” 

In her own emotional tribute, Kim called her grandmother “my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin.” She reflected on MJ’s influence, noting that her grandmother gave her first job at her San Diego store and taught her lessons about work ethic, strength, and confidence that she has carried ever since. “You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us,” Kim wrote. “I know you’re at peace now. Give Papa Harry, Aunt Karen, and my dad a hug for me.” 

Hamilton’s decision to share the vacation photos so publicly marks a significant step in his relationship with Kardashian. While he has rarely spoken about his personal life in the past, the Formula 1 legend appears to be embracing his role within her family unit. Earlier this month, when a fan asked if a “girlfriend” was the reason he seemed happier lately, Hamilton responded with a laugh, “Yeah, that’s a good one… And of course, of course it’s Kim.”
