Jennifer Lopez is back to square one with her Beverly Hills mansion after a deal to sell the $50 million property fell through. Sources say the potential buyer walked away on Tuesday after putting down a “substantial” deposit, leaving J Lo searching for a new buyer for the sprawling estate she once shared with ex-husband Ben Affleck.
The 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom mansion has been a persistent headache for Lopez since she and Affleck purchased it for nearly $61 million in May 2023. After their separation and divorce were finalized in January 2025, they listed the home for $68 million, a price that has steadily dropped over the past two years. Affleck eventually gifted his entire share of the property to Lopez in April 2026, allowing her to keep any profit from a sale.
The latest setback comes after Lopez’s broker, Branden Williams, confirmed the home had entered escrow with a mystery buyer described as a well-known figure “in tech and finance”. The identity of the buyer who backed out has not been disclosed. The Beverly Hills Estates, represented by Rayni and Branden Williams, holds the listing.
Lopez has moved into a $17.5 million Hidden Hills property she purchased in February 2025 , but the former marital home remains unsold. The sprawling 38,000-square-foot compound features amenities including a sports lounge, boxing ring, basketball and pickleball courts, a 12-car garage, and a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse. For now, J Lo is back to square one in her yearslong effort to unload the property.
