Ayra Starr delivered a headline performance at Victoria’s Stad Popiler for Seychelles’ 50th Independence Day (Golden Jubilee) celebrations, bringing Nigerian Afrobeats energy to the island nation’s historic milestone. The concert served as the cultural centerpiece of the celebrations, drawing thousands of attendees.
The Grammy-nominated singer was officially welcomed by President Patrick Herminie at the State House ahead of the show, marking a significant moment for cultural exchange between Seychelles and the African continent. President Herminie described her participation as a reflection of the strong cultural ties between African nations.
Starr performed alongside a live band and a supporting lineup of local acts, including Pusso, Taniah, Keartsea, and Juliah. Admission was free for general attendees, with VIP tickets priced at SCR 2,000.
The Golden Jubilee celebration took place from June 26 to 29, 2026, under the theme “Nou Pep, Nou Lidantite, Nou Desten”, celebrating Seychelles’ people, identity, and destiny. Starr’s performance capped four days of cultural activations across the islands.
