Bebe Rexha’s independent album Dirty Blonde has made a powerful statement on the streaming charts, earning the third biggest debut of the weekend on Global Spotify.
The album’s performance placed it behind only Olivia Rodrigo’s You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which claimed the top spot and made Dirty Blonde the second biggest female debut of the weekend. Both albums dropped on June 12, setting up a major streaming showdown between two of pop’s biggest female artists.
The strong streaming numbers mark a significant milestone for Rexha, who left her record label in 2025 to become an independent artist. The 13-track visual album represents her first release under Empire Distribution and marks a return to her dance-pop roots. “I felt free,” Rexha said of creating music on her own terms.
The album’s opening day performance adds to the excitement surrounding Rexha’s latest project. Lead single New Religion reportedly led the album’s track streams, demonstrating early fan engagement across the project’s tracklist.
Olivia Rodrigo’s third studio album broke streaming records across multiple platforms, becoming the most-streamed album in a single day in 2026 by a female artist on Spotify and delivering Amazon Music’s biggest first 24-hour streaming debut globally. The 13-track release took the Top 9 spots on Spotify’s Top Songs Debut Global chart.
Rodrigo shared the project’s dreamy artwork when announcing the album in April, writing, “I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it”.
