Chris Tucker just dropped a bombshell on a Las Vegas crowd, and it wasn’t about Rush Hour 4. The comedian revealed he’s been celibate for more than three years and is holding out for marriage. The confession came during a phone-free performance at The Wynn on Friday, where guests locked up their devices before entering the room.
Sources who attended the show said Tucker opened up about his love life with surprising vulnerability. “Well, I’m celibate. I’ve been celibate for 3 years, but I’m really trying to get married,” he told the crowd. “I give it to the love this time.” He emphasized his seriousness with a follow-up: “I’m serious. No one believes me.”
Tucker said the skepticism extends to his own blood relatives. He joked that his niece finds the revelation harder to accept than the existence of extraterrestrial life. “She believes in aliens, but she doesn’t believe I did that,” he quipped. The line reportedly drew one of the night’s biggest laughs.
The comedian also detailed the reactions he gets from women after revealing his celibacy. He joked about a woman who responded, “She said, ‘How much? How much … how much is it?’ I’m not selling it. I’m celibate! What is wrong with you people?” Tucker even joked about getting so lonely that he’s tried flirting with Siri and Alexa, another bit that had the crowd in stitches.
The celibacy confession comes as Tucker is reportedly working out a deal to return for Rush Hour 4, the long-awaited fourth installment of the action-comedy franchise. The 53-year-old comedian, who rose to fame alongside Jackie Chan in the blockbuster series, remains one of Hollywood’s most beloved comedic voices, even if nobody believes he’s been saving himself.
