The beauty community is sending well-wishes after Mikayla Nogueira underwent emergency appendix removal this week. The 28-year-old influencer revealed she passed out while filming a TikTok video, leading to a rush hospital visit and immediate surgery.
What started as mild discomfort on a flight from Los Angeles quickly escalated. Nogueira landed in Massachusetts around 2 a.m., hoping sleep would ease the pain. Instead, she woke up feeling worse. Determined to work, she started filming a makeup video. Then everything changed.
“The room began to spin and I couldn’t breathe and fell on the floor and I just passed out,” Nogueira shared with followers. When she regained consciousness, she called 911 herself, knowing she couldn’t drive.
Doctors performed an immediate CAT scan and discovered her appendix was about to rupture. The team rushed her into emergency appendix removal surgery. The influencer now has three small incisions on her stomach and admitted she “can’t really walk.”
The emergency appendix removal came at an emotional time. Nogueira, who announced her divorce from Cody Hawken in February, is now dating Zach, a former high school connection. She said he has been “taking care of me, which is really sweet of him.”
The timing also overlaps with her June 13 birthday. “Not how I want to spend my birthday,” she told followers. “It’s gonna be an interesting few days. I love you, and I will be here in my bed.” For now, the influencer is prioritizing rest and recovery over content creation.
