If you haven’t heard, I will tell you. The Omo Baba Olowo of Naija music
— Davido was billed to perform in New York days ago, but the singer
turned up high and couldn’t perform or thrill his fans. After all the
stuff that happened on friday night at the Davido concert in NY and the
reaction from people on saturday, Davido has come out to apologize for
all the mishaps that happened that night.

Davido who is currently in New York as part of a US tour, has been
accused by his NY fans of scamming them right there in the Big
Apple. The pop artiste’s first official US tour seems to have started on
a bad note as his live concert in New York last was packed by angry
fans who took to social media to berate the Pop singer for his ‘bad
behaviour’. According to concert goers, the headline artiste (Davido)
was billed to hit the stage at about midnight but did not do so until
3AM. Fans had gotten irritated at this point, knowing that the show was
to end in an hour. Davido is also said to not have performed his hit
song ‘Skelewu’. Fans who paid for regular tickets were charged $40 while
VIP tickets sold for $75. The show (and US concert) was put together by
Big A Entertainment. Knowing fully well what had happened, Davido tried
to correct the ‘mishap’ by tendering an apology on Twitter but it
seemed too late as fans responded, blasting him.

Davido had a concert in New York City last night, and a lot of fans were
left gravely unsatisfied by the organization, Davido’s performance and
more. According to reports, the show was set to end at 4am, and Davido
didn’t hit the stage till very late, and shortly after the show was shut
down by city police. This left a lot of fans pissed off and they’ve
taked to his instagram pictures to lash out at him, and his stage
performance. Davido also sent out a message indicating that he got a lot
of love before the show was shut down. See some of the messages fans

It is important to state that Pulse 48,was not the first choice of Venues for Davido concert.
The tour was announced about 2months before the set date which gave us barely 1month to look for a venue.
We looked for
several venues which we felt had better facilities for the concert but
they were all booked for that day. We contacted about 100venues like
Amazura, 630 ballroom, BB King etc. The artistefee had already been paid
for and the tour Manager could not get another date for us to
reschedule, We eventually had to use Pulse 48 thinking it would
accommodate our crowd. We did not envisage getting up to 3000people as
it has never happened in the history of Afro-beat concerts in America
before.
We had over
3000people in attendance, over 2000persons gained admission while about
800people turn back or were not allowed to get in to avoid over
population.
SECURITY:
The Hall provided
about 10security men and we provided 5security. We went ahead to get
7more security personals when we realized how much unruly the crowd was,
Making it a total of 22security personals.
ARTIST ARRIVAL AND ENTOURAGE:
The Party Bus arrived at the Hotel to pick the Artiste and entourage by 12am.The Entourage comprising of over 20people left the hotel around 12:35am and arrived at the 1:36am.He
was unable to get into the venue for security reasons. We had to make
sure we were able to securely take him in and out of the concert.
Moreover, it was also a big hustle to bring him in because of his number
of persons in his entourage. This did not make it any easier for the
promoters and the Security.
Davido and his entourage eventually got into the Venue at about 2:30am and
was in the waiting room while the security tried to make sure it was
safe for him to go on stage. He finally got on Stage around 3:15am and
his gang member insisted that another artiste who is a friend of theirs
should perform before they go on stage. Mind you, this artist was not
on the performance line up. After that,each and every member of the HKN
gang began to perform, our effort to get Davido to go on stage right
away proved abortive as they all had to perform before him.He finally
got on stage by 3:30am and 18mins after he started performing, the NYPD came and short down the event for safety concerns.

The news making the
round is that the concert was shut down because of over capacity. The
truth about it is that the Fire Service department shut down the concert
because a girl called the Cops 6times and making some claims. It is
still unclear to us what her complaints were but she stopped us from
having fun.
