Dave is finally coming home. The Mercury Prize-winning rapper has just announced his debut headline shows in Lagos, marking the first time he will perform in Nigeria as a headliner. The two-night run takes over the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture & Creative Arts on October 16 and 17.

The Lagos dates are part of the “HOMECOMING” leg of Dave’s acclaimed The Boy Who Played the Harp tour. While the British-Nigerian artist has built a massive following across Europe and North America, this marks his first proper headline return to his ancestral home. The venue itself carries weight, the former National Theatre has been reborn as a cultural hub named after Nigeria’s first Nobel laureate in literature.

Those lucky enough to score tickets will hear live renditions of fan favorites from the album, including “Raindance” featuring Tems. The track became an instant classic when it dropped, blending Dave’s razor-sharp lyricism with Tems’ ethereal vocals. Other deep cuts and crowd-pleasers from his catalog are also expected across both nights.

Dave’s father was Nigerian. His music has always carried that influence — from the highlife-inflected production to the stories of diaspora life. But performing in Lagos as a headliner is different. It’s not a stopover. It’s a statement. With two full nights at one of the city’s most iconic venues, Dave isn’t just visiting. He’s arriving.
