The search for Polish YouTuber Lil Narcyz has ended in tragedy. Authorities confirmed that Nikodem Czyżewski, the 23-year-old internet star known to his millions of fans as Lil Narcyz, was found dead in Croatia. The content creator had been missing since early April, last contacting his family on April 8. Police in Gliwice, Poland, announced their search concluded after receiving confirmation that his body had been discovered in the Croatian capital, Zagreb.
Croatian authorities located Czyżewski’s remains on May 2 around 6:30 PM. The body was found in an apartment on Ilica Street in Zagreb by the 58-year-old property owner, from whom the influencer was renting the space. Police have stated that no traces suggesting third-party involvement were found on the body. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, but authorities currently do not suspect foul play. His body has since been transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine and Criminology.
The young man had traveled to Croatia in mid-March seeking seasonal employment. After he stopped responding to messages in early April, his family and friends launched an intensive social media campaign to locate him. Polish authorities issued a public appeal for information, believing he may have been in the Zagreb area. A crowdfunding campaign has since been launched by his family to raise funds to repatriate his body back to Poland for burial.
Lil Narcyz had built a substantial following of over 455,000 subscribers on YouTube, known for his provocative diss tracks and comedy-rap content. Tracks like “Diss na szkołę” and “Koronawirus” garnered millions of views. Despite his massive online presence, he had stepped back from posting in recent years, with his final video uploaded in November 2021. On his channel profile, he described his work as educational, focusing on topics like quantum physics, biochemistry, and biotechnology. His death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans across social media platforms.
