Rapper Offset is currently navigating a double-edged sword of personal and financial crisis. While the 34-year-old artist remains in stable condition following a recent shooting in Florida, he is now facing a significant legal battle in the Midwest. On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, court documents revealed that the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit has filed a lawsuit against the former Migos member, seeking to recover nearly $100,000 in unpaid gambling debt. This Offset MotorCity Casino lawsuit April 2026 alleges breach of contract and fraud after a series of failed payment attempts.

The legal dispute traces back to a visit Offset made to the MotorCity Casino in March 2024. According to the complaint, Offset opened a credit line with the establishment to “keep a night of gambling fun going.” The agreement reportedly allowed the casino to collect any outstanding balance directly from Offset’s bank account if he failed to settle the debt in person.

The casino claims that after failing to reach the rapper to resolve the balance, they attempted to execute the withdrawal as per the contract. However, the transaction was allegedly declined due to insufficient funds. The lawsuit now seeks the full $100,000 principal, plus legal fees and interest.

Despite the aggressive nature of the filing, Offset’s team appears to be aiming for a quiet resolution. A representative for the “Father of 4” rapper told TMZ, “We are working toward a resolution.” This suggests that a settlement may be reached out of court before the case proceeds to a formal trial.

However, this isn’t the first time the rapper has faced financial scrutiny. In recent years, Offset has dealt with a $1.5 million federal tax lien, which his team confirmed was eventually satisfied.

The timing of the lawsuit adds significant stress to an already traumatic week. As of April 9, 2026, Offset is still recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg sustained during an altercation at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

• The Florida Incident: A fight involving Offset’s entourage and fellow rapper Lil Tjay’s crew escalated into gunfire on Monday night.

• The Recovery: Doctors at Memorial Regional Hospital describe Offset’s injuries as non-life-threatening, but he remains under observation.

• The Contrast: Ironically, the lawsuit over a Detroit gambling debt hit the headlines just as the rapper was victimized at a different casino across the country.

Industry analysts have noted the “bad streak” Offset is currently experiencing with casino-related ventures. From the physical violence in Florida to the legal action in Detroit, the rapper’s presence at high-stakes gaming venues has become a focal point of his 2026 narrative.

For now, the focus for Offset remains on physical rehabilitation and settling the Detroit tab before the MotorCity legal team pushes for more severe “fraud” penalties in court.
