The Labrinth Euphoria Season 3 drama has taken a sharp turn. The Grammy-winning composer and musical mastermind behind the hit HBO series has broken his silence, and he is not holding back. In a fiery statement, Labrinth accused series creator Sam Levinson of lying about why his music is missing from the show’s latest season.
After Levinson told Rolling Stone he “didn’t know” why Labrinth’s music was not in Season 3, the composer fired back on social media. He wrote that people “will comfortably lie in this industry and still call themselves honest people.” Then came the reveal: Labrinth removed music from Euphoria on purpose. “I decided to remove whatever music I had in it,” he stated flatly.
Labrinth clarified that he spoke to HBO directly and believes they are “cool” with each other. The issue was not with the network. It was with Levinson. His explanation cuts deep: “When I work for someone, their vision is paramount to me. But I don’t let people treat me like s‑‑‑.” That final line “LAST TRUTH” suggests a working relationship that soured behind the scenes.
Labrinth’s score defined the sound of Euphoria. His atmospheric, emotionally wrecked compositions for Season 1 and Season 2 earned him two Emmy Awards. Tracks like “Mount Everest,” “Formula,” and “I’m Tired” transcended the show to become streaming hits. His absence from Season 3 is immediately noticeable, and now fans know it was not an accident.
HBO has not publicly commented on Labrinth’s statement. Levinson has not responded to the accusation that he lied. Labrinth, meanwhile, continues his solo career and recent work on the Euphoria spinoff The Idol soundtrack. But his return to the main series now seems impossible.
