The Rebecca King-Crews Parkinson’s diagnosis has finally come to light after the 60-year-old kept her condition private for 11 years. In an emotional appearance on the “Today” show alongside her husband, the Terry Crews wife shared that she was first diagnosed in 2015 following years of mysterious symptoms that began around 2012. The couple decided to go public now after Rebecca underwent a cutting-edge procedure that has dramatically improved her quality of life.

The first signs appeared subtly. Numbness in her left foot. Her trainer noticed her left arm no longer swung when she walked. Then came the tremor she recognized instantly, her grandmother and uncle had both battled Parkinson’s. But getting answers took three agonizing years. One doctor dismissed her symptoms as anxiety. Another said she was simply working out too much. Rebecca pushed for referrals and finally found a specialist who connected all the dots.

Last month, Rebecca traveled to Stanford Hospital for a non-invasive treatment called focused ultrasound, an FDA-approved procedure that uses sound waves directed into the brain to eradicate tremors on one side of the body. The results have been nothing short of life-changing. “I’m able to write with my right hand for the first time in probably three years,” she said on the broadcast. She plans to return in October to have the left side treated.

Rebecca was adamant about her reason for going public. “I don’t believe in telling my story just so you can know my story and feel sorry for me,” she explained . She wants others with Parkinson’s to know about this new frontier of medicine. Terry, visibly choked up, called his wife a superhero. “To watch her write her name for the first time in three years… I’m choked up just thinking about it” .

The diagnosis came while Rebecca was also battling breast cancer, undergoing a double mastectomy in 2020 . Through it all, Terry has been her rock, researching treatments for years and holding her as she cried on the hardest days. “My mission is to make sure she gets the best care possible,” he said .
