DaBaby Explains Why He Rejected Painting of His Daughters: “Don’t Bring My Kids Into It”

A moment in a nightclub. An artist with a gift. A painting of two young girls. And a polite but firm no.

That is the scene DaBaby decided to explain on his Instagram Story this week after clips of the interaction began circulating online. The rapper did not let the speculation run wild. He addressed it directly, with no filter and no apology.

At a recent club appearance, an artist approached DaBaby with a canvas. The painting featured the rapper’s daughters. On its surface, the gesture seemed personal and thoughtful. But DaBaby saw it differently.

He declined the gift on the spot. The moment was caught on video, and within hours, fans were guessing why. Was it the setting? The timing? The artist himself?

DaBaby answered all of those questions in one IG Story.

“Let me clear something up,” he wrote. “An artist tried to give me a painting of my daughters at the club. I said no. And here’s why.”

He continued: “I’m not comfortable with men discussing my daughters, creating artwork of my daughters, or bringing my kids into anything. Period. That’s a boundary. Don’t cross it.”

The statement was short, direct, and left no room for interpretation. For DaBaby, the issue was not the painting’s quality or the artist’s intent. The issue was the principle itself.

The rapper made clear he was not attacking the artist personally. He did not name the person who offered the painting. He did not call anyone out by username or tag. Instead, he drew a line in the sand that applies to everyone equally.

“Nothing against him specifically,” DaBaby added. “But that goes for anybody. Don’t bring my kids into anything. Don’t make art of them. Don’t talk about them. Don’t ask about them. Leave them out of it completely.”

Celebrity children exist in a strange space. Fans feel they know them through their famous parents. Artists and creators sometimes try to honor those children through tribute art or personal gifts. But for DaBaby, that well-meaning attention crosses a line.

His response is not about one painting or one nightclub. It is about a larger refusal to let his daughters become public property. The rapper has always been protective of his family. This is just the latest example.

The painting was declined. The boundary was set. And now everyone knows exactly where he stands.
