The creative partnership between Hollywood’s ultimate best friends is moving into a high-stakes new chapter. Following the news that their previous pilot, Group Chat, was not picked up by Hulu, it has been confirmed that La La Anthony and Kim Kardashian will reteam for a Tracy Oliver comedy at the same streamer.

The shift marks a pivot from a satirical look at friendship to a character-driven professional comedy. While Group Chat was inspired by Anthony’s book The Love Playbook, this new project brings in the heavy-hitting creative force of Tracy Oliver the writer behind the record-breaking Girls Trip and the creator of Harlem.

The currently untitled half-hour series focuses on the high-octane world of professional sports management. La La Anthony and Kim Kardashian reteam for the Tracy Oliver comedy as executive producers, with Anthony expected to take the lead role.

The show follows the Bay Area’s most sought-after crisis manager for professional athletes. Her carefully curated life is thrown into absolute turmoil when her own husband becomes embroiled in a major scandal. In a classic “physician, heal thyself” twist, she must navigate her own personal downfall while leaning on the three women who have been by her side through every version of her life. The series explores themes of motherhood, ambition, and the “glamorous mess” of starting over in your forties.

The series will be produced by 20th Television, where Kardashian holds a first-look deal. This project is part of a larger push by Kardashian into the scripted television space following the massive success of her legal drama All’s Fair, which recently premiered its first season to record-breaking viewership numbers.

For Tracy Oliver, this project adds to an incredibly busy 2026 slate that includes sequels to Girls Trip and The Blackening. Her signature blend of heart and humor is expected to give this project the edge it needs to stand out in Hulu’s competitive comedy lineup.

While Group Chat which featured a cast including Yaya DaCosta and Melanie Liburd is no longer moving forward, the chemistry between the “Bichotas” of the business world remains a priority for the streamer. Sources suggest that the “Crisis Manager” concept feels more aligned with the current “prestige comedy” trend dominating 2026.

As production begins to ramp up, fans are eager to see if Kardashian will take on an on-screen role or remain behind the scenes as a producer and narrator, as she was intended to do for their previous project. Regardless, with this trio at the helm, the series is already being hailed as a must-watch for fans of sharp, female-led storytelling.
