The “Call Me Maybe” singer just added a new role to her resume: mom. Carly Rae Jepsen has officially welcomed her first child with husband Cole M.G.N., sharing the joyful news with fans in a heartfelt Instagram Story on March 17.
The 40-year-old Canadian pop star posted a mirror selfie cradling her newborn, who wore an adorable green and white striped onesie and matching bonnet, a sweet nod to St. Patrick’s Day. “Last 2 weeks have been the best of my life,” Jepsen wrote. “Welcome to the world, little one”. She set the emotional post to Frankie Valli’s classic “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”.
Jepsen and Cole Marsden Greif-Neill, the Grammy-winning producer known professionally as Cole M.G.N. first met during a songwriting session in 2021. Their creative partnership blossomed into romance, and by 2022, they were dating. He’s worked with Beck (winning six Grammys), Ariel Pink, Blood Orange, and Snoop Dogg, and co-wrote and produced Jepsen’s song “So Right” from her 2023 album The Loveliest Time.
The couple announced their engagement in September 2024 with a simple but perfect caption: “Very engaged over here”. Just over a year later, in October 2025, they tied the knot at the iconic Chelsea Hotel in New York City’s Bard Room with 100 guests. Jepsen told Vogue the day “was better than either one of our wildest dreams”.
One month after the wedding, the Canadian pop star revealed she was expecting. Sharing black-and-white photos cradling her bare bump in bed, she wrote the now-iconic words: “Oh hi baby”.
Throughout her pregnancy, Jepsen kept fans updated with characteristic warmth. In January, she posted beach photos showing off her bump alongside Cole, revealing they’d already chosen a favorite lullaby . “Cole is even learning to play it on guitar,” she wrote, adding, “Ready for the 3 a.m. parties as well”.
She celebrated her 40th birthday in November with characteristic optimism: “If I’m doing my job right, things will just get weirder from here on out”.
Jepsen’s 2023 album The Loveliest Time followed 2022’s The Loneliest Time, and she recently celebrated the 10-year anniversary of her beloved EMOTION album with an expanded edition featuring new tracks. She’s also teaming up with Lena Dunham to turn the 1999 rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You into a Broadway musical.
But for now, the focus is simple: those 3 a.m. parties she promised she was ready for. The Canadian pop star who once asked the world to call her maybe now has someone new to call her own.
