Gabrielle Union revealed on Michelle Obama’s IMO podcast that Dwyane Wade’s sister Tragil and mother Jolinda were initially skeptical of their romance due to Union being nine years older than Wade.
Union, 52, explained that Tragil questioned “What do you want? Who are you, you older lady?” when they first started dating in 2009.
The actress reassured Wade’s family by saying “I got my own bank account, so I’m good. I just like him, we’ll see where it goes.”
It took years to earn their trust, but Union says they’re now “all on the same side” since marrying in 2014.
