Jennifer Lopez Admits Not All Celebrity Skincare Brands Are Worth the Hype: “Some of It Isn’t”

Jennifer Lopez is keeping it real when it comes to celebrity skincare lines — including her own. The 55-year-old pop icon and business mogul recently admitted that not all celebrity beauty brands live up to the hype, but she insists JLo Beauty is the real deal.

In a candid Instagram Q&A with fans, J.Lo responded to a follower who questioned the quality of celebrity skincare, saying:

“I tend to think celebrity skincare is not worth the hype.”

To which Jennifer replied honestly:

“Some of it isn’t. It’s luxury skincare that is clinically tested, and trust me — I don’t cut corners.”

The Jenny From the Block singer also clapped back at skeptics who think she only uses JLo Beauty products for the cameras.

“That’s funny, because I’m standing in my actual bathroom right now. No, I use it. I use it every day.”

She launched JLo Beauty in 2021, initially with eight products, and has since expanded the line. The brand’s bestselling moisturizer has been praised by fans for its silky texture.

“We want it to be like cashmere for your face — but clinically tested,” Lopez explained.

Worth the Splurge? J.Lo Thinks So

Addressing questions about the price point of her products, the actress and entrepreneur said:

“Listen, I get it. Your skin is something that you have to show up with every single day. So, if there is a little bit of splurge in you, I would say do it on skincare — without a doubt.”

One fan commented that JLo Beauty “actually works”, prompting a confident response from Lopez:

“Yeah, that was the point. You thought, what? I came to play? No.”

Jennifer previously told PEOPLE (The Show!) that launching a skincare line wasn’t just about business — it was about answering a question she’s been asked her entire career.

“Everywhere I went, I felt like everybody was always asking me about my skin… It was almost like an obligation. Like I had to put out a skincare line for everybody who was asking.”

Now, with her brand continuing to grow, J.Lo is doubling down on quality and transparency — something that sets her apart in a crowded celeb-skincare space.
