Nicole Scherzinger has taken her final bow in Sunset Boulevard, closing a powerful chapter in her life that spanned two continents, two years, and two award wins.

From West End to Broadway Glory

The Pussycat Dolls star began her journey as Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic Sunset Boulevard back in 2023, when the reimagined production debuted in London’s West End under the visionary direction of Jamie Lloyd. The show received rave reviews, leading to a much-anticipated Broadway transfer the following year.

Now, nearly 10 months after its opening at New York’s St. James Theatre, Scherzinger has officially closed out her run—with a heartfelt tribute that left fans and theatre lovers deeply moved.

A Role That Redefined Her

Taking to Instagram following her final performance on Sunday, July 20, Scherzinger shared a deeply personal message:

“Today, the sun sets on Sunset Blvd for the final time. After living and breathing Norma Desmond for the past two years, it’s almost impossible to grasp that today is the last show.”

She reflected on how Norma’s story—of heartbreak, ambition, and resilience—mirrored her own personal battles:

“Norma’s story is for anyone who’s ever felt alone. Lonely. Abandoned. Outcast. For those who once loved something deeply and had it taken from them… Norma has changed me forever.”

Thanking the Team and the Dream

Nicole went on to praise director Jamie Lloyd for daring to push artistic boundaries:

“Jamie, the ultimate brave pioneer, you have given us all new ways to dream. Thank you for showing me what is possible when you dare to be braver.”

She also thanked Andrew Lloyd Webber, the cast, and Broadway itself:

“Thank you, Broadway, for the magic in the making.”

Awards and Accolades

Scherzinger’s portrayal of Norma Desmond has earned her critical acclaim and numerous awards, including:

Best Actress in a Musical at the Laurence Olivier Awards

Best Actress in a Musical at the 2025 Tony Awards

During her tearful Tony acceptance speech at Radio City Music Hall, she said:

“Growing up, I always felt like I didn’t belong… But you all have made me feel like I belong and I have come home at last… This is a testament that love always wins.”

The production also scooped several other major awards across both sides of the Atlantic, including Best DirectorBest Lighting, and Best Musical Revival.

What’s Next for Nicole?

While Scherzinger hasn’t revealed her next move, fans are speculating a return to music—or possibly another major stage role. Whatever it is, her transformative turn in Sunset Boulevard has undeniably solidified her place as a true powerhouse in musical theatre.
