Jason Momoa might be a superhero on screen, but when it comes to being on stage, he admits he’s nothing but terrified.

The Aquaman star recently revealed just how nerve-wracking it was to host Black Sabbath’s final show — Back To The Beginning — held on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham. Speaking to Kerrang! magazine, the 45-year-old actor confessed he felt like he was “s******* my pants” after being personally asked by Sharon Osbourne to emcee Ozzy Osbourne’s last-ever performance with the band.

“I’m like, ‘What the f*** are you talking about, man?!’ I’ve never hosted anything before, but I’ve gotta go out in front of all these f****** people and host!” Momoa recalled. “I’ll be s******* my pants, but at the same time, it’s the goddamn greatest metal show in history.”

Despite his action-hero image, Momoa said he’s deeply uncomfortable performing live. “I’m f****** terrified. I’m not scared to act because I don’t have to look at the camera and there are no crowds… Theatre isn’t really me. Standing up there with everyone staring at you all the f****** time is brutal. I get sick, I don’t feel well.”

Aside from his film career, Momoa fronts a band called ÖOF TATATÁ, which plays covers of rock and metal classics. While their shows are casual, the anxiety still hits hard. “We play everything from Zeppelin to Sabbath to Metallica to Bad Brains,” he said. “But even with just 200 people or 5,000, it’s still scary as s***.”

Even so, he’s found joy in performing — especially since his children, Lola (17) and Nakoa-Wolf (16), have started joining him onstage. “My kids come and sing four songs, my son plays, and we played the f****** Whisky! I never knew I was going to do that… It’s surreal.”

While he doesn’t plan to pursue theatre or headline stadium tours, Momoa said he’s passionate about music and is looking forward to creating original material with his band. “I love the bass and I really want to have more time to get better. I love music and I love learning.”

For now, even if the stage terrifies him, it seems Jason Momoa isn’t backing down from a challenge — even if it means hosting the biggest metal send-off of all time.
