18 July 2025 – Beauty mogul Hailey Bieber is keeping it real about her skin. The 27-year-old model and founder of Rhode Skin revealed she’s currently battling a flare-up of perioral dermatitis, a common rash that pops up around the mouth and nose.
Sharing a close-up photo of the irritation on her Instagram Stories, Hailey explained that the condition often appears when she’s tired, stressed, traveling, or trying new products.
“Always flares up when I’m traveling a lot, sleep deprived, hormones, the wrong SPF, new products, stress,” she wrote candidly.
Her “Minimal” Skincare Routine
Despite being the face of a billion-dollar beauty brand, Hailey swears by a simple approach when her skin is inflamed.
Her go-to routine includes:
• A gentle rinse with water
• Prescription Azelaic acid
• Hypochlorous acid
• Clindamycin
• Her signature Glazing Milk from Rhode
She emphasized that less is more when dealing with flare-ups, aiming to calm and reset her skin rather than overload it.
Rhode’s Big Move
This candid moment comes just weeks after Hailey sold Rhode Skin to e.l.f. Beauty in a blockbuster deal estimated at $1 billion. Despite the sale, she’s staying on as chief creative officer, head of innovation, and a strategic consultant.
In an interview with Glamour, Hailey said the partnership is about expansion:
“This is definitely one of those dreams being realized. I want to expand globally, and I really believe e.l.f. is going to help us get there.”
When asked about a possible crossover collection between Rhode and e.l.f. Cosmetics, Hailey kept things open-ended:
“I’m always open to seeing how we can innovate together. I’d say nothing’s off the table.”
Real Talk, Real Skin
Hailey’s honesty about her skin issues — especially in the middle of a major career high — has struck a chord with fans, showing that even beauty icons face skin challenges.
Her transparency offers a refreshing reminder: skin health is never perfect, and stress shows up in more ways than one.
