Apple TV+’s psychological thriller Severance is officially this year’s Emmy frontrunner, racking up 27 nominations for its gripping second season — more than any other show.
The acclaimed series, executive produced and largely directed by Ben Stiller, landed major nods including Outstanding Drama Series, while lead stars Adam Scott and Britt Lower scored nominations in their respective acting categories. The series also cleaned up in supporting and guest categories, with John Turturro, Patricia Arquette, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, Jane Alexander, Gwendoline Christie, and Merritt Wever all earning recognition.
Severance faces tough competition for Best Drama, going head-to-head with The Last of Us, Andor, The White Lotus, and The Diplomat, among others.
Other Big Contenders
• The Penguin, the noir-inspired Batman spin-off starring Colin Farrell, picked up 24 nominations, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Farrell is nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series, while Cristin Milioti and Deirdre O’Connell received supporting nods.
• The White Lotus continues its reign with 23 nominations, including a sweep across acting categories with Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Sam Rockwell, and Natasha Rothwell all making the cut.
• The Studio, a comedy series from Seth Rogen, also earned 23 nods, with Rogen himself up for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
