Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Still Locked in Legal Battle Over French Winery Sale

Though Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie officially finalized their divorce in December 2024, the drama between the Hollywood exes is far from over. The former couple, who co-parent six children — Maddox (23)Pax (21)Zahara (20)Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16) — are now locked in an escalating legal war over their once jointly-owned French winery, Château Miraval.

According to People, the dispute began after Jolie sold her 50% share of the estate in 2021 to Stoli Group’s wine division, Tenute del Mondo. Pitt filed a lawsuit a year later, claiming they had a mutual agreement not to sell their shares without each other’s approval — a condition Jolie allegedly violated.

In her response, Jolie accused Pitt of being “vindictive” ever since she filed for divorce in 2016, citing his ongoing legal action as further evidence of his hostility. The latest twist? Pitt’s legal team is now pushing to make private text messages between Jolie and Alexey Oliynik — an executive at Stoli — public. Pitt argues these messages could prove Jolie acted “with malice”, knowingly selling to a party he strongly opposed.

“These requests go directly to key allegations about Pitt’s objections to the sale,” his legal team wrote in court documents. “They easily meet the standard for discoverability given Pitt’s allegations that Jolie acted with malice in selling to Stoli, a counterparty she knew Pitt opposed.”

While the divorce may be settled on paper, the fallout from their high-profile split continues to unfold — this time in a courtroom, with a $160 million vineyard and years of tension at the center.
