Wednesday star Hunter Doohan is treading carefully these days—because the last thing he wants is to become that guy who spoils everything.

In a new interview with Women’s Wear Daily, the 31-year-old actor confessed he’s worried about becoming “the Tom Holland of Wednesday”, referencing the Spider-Man star’s infamous habit of letting spoilers slip during interviews.

“I don’t want to be the Tom Holland of Wednesday,” he joked. “I feel like a jerk sometimes in these interviews, I’m like, ‘I can’t say that. I can’t say anything.’”

Wednesday Season 2: “Bigger, Better… and Way More Supernatural”

Hunter—who plays Tyler Galpin, the charming barista with a monstrous secret—hinted that Season 2 will go deeper into the show’s dark, gothic universe.

“It was really fun to be in the Tim Burton world a bit more because I’m not pretending to be the nice boyfriend barista,” he explained.

“This time, I really felt like from the start I was living in the heightened genre of the world the whole time.”

With the Hyde identity now fully revealed, Doohan is finally free to lean into the chaos of Wednesday’s supernatural world—something fans have been eagerly waiting for since Season 1 ended in 2023.

From Arkansas to Netflix Stardom

Despite his growing fame, Doohan’s journey to the screen wasn’t always so certain. Raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, he revealed that a career in film or TV once felt completely out of reach.

“I never saw film and TV as an option growing up there, even though I loved it,” he said.

“It just truly never even crossed my mind as something I could even try to pursue, whereas theater felt realistic. We had our high school theater and our community theater.”

Fast forward to now, and Doohan isn’t just Netflix-famous—he’s also expanding his resume. In addition to roles in Your HonorDaredevil: Born Again, and Westworld, he’s set to make his big-screen debut in 2026 with the horror thriller Evil Dead Burns.

Spoiler-shy or not, Hunter Doohan is clearly stepping into the spotlight—and keeping a tight lid on what’s next in Nevermore Academy.
