JoJo Siwa Confirms New Romance With 32-Year-Old Chris Hughes: “Love Is a Beautiful Rainbow”

JoJo Siwa is officially off the market—and deeply in love. The 22-year-old entertainer has confirmed she’s dating 32-year-old British TV personality Chris Hughes, calling their relationship “great” and declaring him her “favorite person in the world.”

In an interview with TMZ, the former Dance Moms star addressed the wave of criticism she’s received since going public with the romance earlier this month—particularly from within the LGBTQIA+ community. Siwa, who came out as queer in 2021 and had previously only dated queer partners, is now speaking out about love without boundaries.

“The thing is, love is a beautiful rainbow, and I think that the LGBTQIA community needs to remember that love is love,” JoJo said. “I think the hate from within the community is something that I’ve learned a lot from, and I think a lot of people get to grow from. And I’m one of those people.”

JoJo and Chris Hughes first sparked dating rumors earlier this year while filming Celebrity Big Brother UK, and the pair confirmed their romance in June.

JoJo Talks Marriage, Miley, and Growing Through Criticism

When asked if she’s thought about marriage, JoJo didn’t hold back: “So many thoughts.” Though she didn’t elaborate, her glowing tone and public affection for Hughes suggest the relationship is serious and evolving quickly.

The couple’s relationship hasn’t just drawn commentary—it also made headlines recently when Miley Cyrus made a joke about Siwa’s sexuality at the WorldPride event in Washington, D.C. In a playful pre-recorded clip, Cyrus stepped out of a closet and quipped:

“Oh my god, I haven’t been in there since the sixth grade. Enjoy coming out of the closet if this Pride is the time for you. I’m going back in to get some more pretzels and find JoJo Siwa and bring her back out.”

While some fans felt the joke missed the mark, Siwa took to Instagram to clarify her feelings.

“I wasn’t sure how I felt about things for a couple of days… but I’ve started to come to some thoughts,” she wrote. “I don’t believe what Miley said was ill-intended… just not a very good joke haha. Not what the world, or myself needs to hear any day of the week.”

According to JoJo, she reached out to Cyrus, who responded kindly: “All love. Always.”

JoJo made it clear there’s “no love lost” between her and Miley.

“She’s Miley Cyrus; I grew up loving her, I’ll forever love her,” she said.

A Bold, New Chapter

JoJo Siwa has never shied away from speaking her truth or challenging expectations—whether it’s through her music, her bold fashion, or now, her romantic choices. As she and Chris Hughes continue to explore their relationship, JoJo is reminding the world that love doesn’t need labels—and hate has no place, even within the community.
