Liverpool is reportedly preparing a final take-it-or-leave-it offer of £118 million for Florian Wirtz, after Bayer Leverkusen turned down an earlier £113 million bid.
The Reds are determined to land the 21-year-old midfield sensation, who was instrumental in Xabi Alonso’s unbeaten Bundesliga-winning campaign last season. Wirtz’s creativity, vision, and goal-scoring threat have made him one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe.
Sources suggest that Leverkusen remain reluctant to sell, especially with Wirtz expected to play a key role in their Champions League return. However, Liverpool’s new manager—believed to be pushing hard for Wirtz—has made him a priority target as part of a post-Klopp rebuild.
With personal terms reportedly not an issue, all eyes are now on Leverkusen’s response. If they reject the £118m bid, Liverpool may be forced to walk away or revisit negotiations after Euro 2024, where Wirtz is expected to feature prominently for Germany.
