Meghan Trainor is getting real about her journey to body confidence—and the boob job that helped her get there.
The 31-year-old pop star, who shares two sons—4-year-old Riley and 21-month-old Barry—with husband and Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara, recently revealed on the Forever Young podcast that she underwent breast surgery to finally achieve the “boobs of her dreams.”
And it turns out, this transformation was a long time coming. Meghan recalled being so self-conscious about her chest as a teenager that even her dad tried to help in his own well-meaning way.
“My dream in life was… since high school, I knew,” she shared. “My dad would even notice. He used to buy me the implants, those gel foam things you could get at Victoria’s Secret. He came home like, ‘Look what I got you, buddy,’ because he knew I was so lopsided. He was like, ‘Maybe this will help…’ But how embarrassing is that?”
While awkward, she now sees that moment as part of a much bigger journey. “It’s totally normal,” she said. “But someday, I was like, ‘I’m gonna have the boobs of my dreams…’”
Meghan, who previously opened up about her 60-pound weight loss after pregnancy, admitted she always felt she needed surgery, especially after her body changed through motherhood.
“I knew I needed a lift since day one. They came out saggy—I was raised with saggy boobs,” she said with a laugh. “With pregnancy, I gained the most weight I’ve ever had, then I lost it all, and I lost even more. And now I’ve finally learned about nutrition—which I wish they taught in elementary school. I’m trying to teach my own kids.”
As the surgery date approached, Meghan said she reached a breaking point. “The week before the surgery, I would look at my boobs in the shower and be like, ‘These aren’t even mine anymore. Get them off!’”
But her decision was also inspired by a friend. “I had a really nice friend who had really nice boobs and she was like, ‘I got the doctor,’ and I was like, ‘I want those!’ So that’s always nice when you’ve seen proof!”
Now, with a new outlook on body image, motherhood, and wellness, Meghan is feeling more confident than ever—and ready to keep things real for her fans and her family.
