Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has eased fans’ fears after Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice were both forced off during the Gunners’ 3-0 demolition of Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Speaking after the match, Arteta confirmed that Saka picked up a knock following a tackle in the 74th minute, while Rice had an issue with his foot. Thankfully, neither injury is believed to be serious.
“Yeah, I think Dec had an issue with the foot. Bukayo after he got tackled from the foul, he had a knock. It doesn’t look serious,” Arteta said.
With a Premier League clash against Brentford this weekend and a crucial second-leg at the Bernabeu next week, Arsenal fans will be hoping both stars are ready to go. Expect more updates in Arteta’s press conference later this week.
