Renowned Yoruba movie actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has disclosed the struggles he is currently facing regarding the welfare of his workers. In a heartfelt video shared on his official Instagram page, the actor revealed that he has been unable to pay the salaries of his 42 staff members for the past four months.
Expressing his frustration, Chatta said, “I have 42 staff working for me, but I’m sad that I haven’t paid their salaries for 4 months now. I know some people would abuse me, but I’m not saying this because I want people to pay the salary of my staff for me, I’m just saying it so that people will know that things aren’t easy everywhere right now. Most of the jobs I do for people in the Yoruba movie industry are free, and I charge little money from some of my friends too.”
He further stressed that his current situation reflects the economic hardship many Nigerians are experiencing, urging the government to fully harness the country’s natural resources to improve the economy and create a better environment for businesses and citizens.
The video has drawn sympathy from fans and colleagues, many of whom praised his honesty and the sacrifices he makes to support the Yoruba movie industry.
