Popular Yoruba movie star Ajasa Owolabi has shared his candid thoughts on the controversial topic of actresses who allegedly engage in affairs to boost their popularity in the Nigerian movie industry.
In an interview on the official YouTube channel of Feelrightnews TV, Ajasa claimed that he is aware of some actresses who have been involved in intimate relationships with actors purely for the sake of gaining fame and movie roles.
Speaking openly, he said, “A lot of people have been accusing actresses of engaging in prostitution, but the truth is that everybody has different missions in the movie industry. I know some actresses who had sex with some actors because they need popularity. I also know some actresses who are very serious about their careers, and they don’t sleep around to get movie roles. Everything depends on the type of family background one belongs to, it doesn’t mean that all actresses are the same.”
Ajasa emphasized that not all actresses follow the same path, pointing out that while some may resort to such desperate means, there are still many who stay focused on building their careers through hard work and professionalism.
The actor’s statement has stirred fresh conversations online about the realities and challenges faced by actresses in Nollywood.
