Despite serving a 30-year sentence, R. Kelly is still making music. The R&B singer recently called into the Inmate Tea with A&P podcast, where he revealed he has written 25 albums while behind bars.
Music Behind Bars
During the podcast, the 58-year-old explained that music is an “incurable disease” for him, adding:
“I don’t care where I’m at. I’m always singing, I’m always writing… right now, I’m just working on getting out.”
Kelly also sang a few of his classic hits, including “When a Woman’s Fed Up” and “Step in the Name of Love.”
Serving Time, Still Making Hits?
Kelly is currently serving time for racketeering and sex trafficking charges in New York, alongside a separate 20-year sentence for child pornography-related crimes in Chicago.
While his legal troubles continue, Kelly’s claim of writing 25 new albums has sparked speculation—will they ever be released?
