Fast-rising singer Fido has sparked conversations online after calling out marketing companies for allegedly exploiting artists in the music industry.
Taking to his X page, Fido warned fellow artists to be wary of deceptive tactics used by some marketing firms to manipulate them into believing they owe their success solely to the company.
According to him, these companies make artists feel indebted while taking a huge cut of their earnings without proper transparency. He revealed that a marketing company was taking 70% of his show earnings, leaving him with just 30%.
The singer also alleged that these companies deliberately block artists from accessing the backend details of their music revenue, making it difficult for them to know exactly how much their work is generating.
Despite acknowledging the importance of marketing in pushing music careers, Fido condemned the exploitative contracts and lack of transparency.
Fido’s Message to Artists
Fido urged fellow artists to know their worth and demand transparency from marketing companies, warning them not to let anyone take advantage of their hard work.
His bold revelation has sparked mixed reactions online, with many hailing him for speaking out against the darker side of the music industry.
