Controversial Nigerian singer Naira Marley has dished out some Ramadan fasting advice to his fans on social media — but his words have triggered hilarious reactions.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the street pop star encouraged his followers to embrace spirituality during Ramadan, urging them to seek Allah’s mercy and turn away from sins before it’s too late.
He wrote:
“Mention the beautiful names of Allah… Turn to him before you return to him. Sins have consequences.”
However, Naira Marley’s spiritual message was met with mixed reactions from fans. While some users took his advice seriously, others playfully reminded him of his controversial past — especially the lingering allegations surrounding the death of his former signee Mohbad.
In a separate post, the Soapy crooner advised fans who gamble on football matches while fasting to break their fast — a message that sparked even more amusement among his followers.
Some fans responded with sarcastic comments, calling him “Imam Marley” and “Alhaji Marlian”, while others asked if he had truly repented.
Despite the jokes, a few loyal fans appreciated his message and dropped the 99 names of Allahin the comment section.
Naira Marley’s attempt at spirituality shows a different side of the singer — but whether fans will take him seriously or not remains to be seen.
