Playboi Carti is once again testing the patience of his loyal fanbase in 2025 as the wait for his highly-anticipated album, I AM MUSIC, drags on.
The rapper, known for his cryptic persona and chaotic rollouts, took to his Instagram Story on Monday night to express frustration with the platform. According to Carti, Instagram has been flagging and removing posts from his burner account — the same account he’s been using to tease snippets and possible hints about the album’s release.
“We good but IG on dat Opium is a drug sh*t. Dey flagging me err time I post on dis mf,” Carti wrote.
The post only added fuel to the fire for fans who have been waiting for the album since he first teased it years ago. With March 2025 marking the self-imposed deadline Carti gave for the album’s release, fans are growing increasingly skeptical.
Is I AM MUSIC Dropping Soon?
Carti’s constant teasing has left many fans feeling like they’re being played. The rapper is set to perform at Rolling Loud California this month — a prime opportunity to drop the long-awaited project — but there’s still no official announcement.
Even Spotify joined the cryptic rollout by putting up billboards across the U.S. seemingly advertising the album. However, the billboards were mysteriously taken down, leaving fans even more confused.
Adding to the suspense, Spotify tweeted an hourglass emoji on March 2, hinting that the wait might finally be coming to an end — or simply trolling along with Carti’s unpredictable antics.
Fans React
The ongoing delay has sparked a mix of frustration and jokes online.
“Congrats, I almost gave a damn,” one fan commented.
Another wrote, “Instagram keeps flagging him for spreading misinformation.”
Despite the skepticism, the hope for a Carti classic keeps fans coming back — even if they’re tired of the mind games.
Will March finally be the month I AM MUSIC drops, or is Playboi Carti just setting everyone up for another round of disappointment?
Only time will tell.
