Claims of Harassment and Intimidation Surface
The woman accusing Jay-Z of sexual assault in 2000, identified only as Jane Doe, has broken her silence following the rapper’s counter lawsuit against her and her legal team.
Jay-Z filed the lawsuit on March 3, just days after Doe dropped her initial assault case, citing harassment and safety concerns. However, the legal battle is far from over as both sides continue to trade allegations.
Jane Doe Speaks Out
In an interview with TMZ, Doe claimed she only withdrew her lawsuit to protect herself and her familyfrom what she described as intimidation tactics by Jay-Z’s representatives.
According to her, investigators allegedly sent by the rapper tracked her down to her home and her parents’ house, pressuring her to sign an affidavit clearing Jay-Z of any wrongdoing.
“I’m terrified… they shouldn’t even know who I am,” Doe reportedly told TMZ, emphasizing that her identity has been kept confidential throughout the legal process.
Jay-Z’s Allegations
The Brooklyn rapper’s lawsuit claims that Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, approached her and offered money to fabricate assault allegations against him. Jay-Z also alleges that Doe admitted to lyingabout the incident during interviews with private investigators.
However, Doe denies ever making such a confession and insists she stands by her original claims.
Lawyer Responds
Doe’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, backed his client’s version of events, accusing Jay-Z’s legal team of running a campaign of harassment and intimidation.
“Shawn Carter’s investigators have repeatedly harassed, threatened, and harangued this poor woman for weeks,” Buzbee told TMZ. “She stands by her claims and won’t be intimidated.”
What Happens Next?
While the sexual assault lawsuit has been dropped, Jay-Z’s defamation lawsuit against both Jane Doe and Buzbee is still ongoing. The case is shaping up to be one of the most controversial legal battles involving a celebrity in recent years.
Neither Jay-Z nor his legal team have publicly commented on the latest allegations.
