‘Ne Zha 2’ Dominates Global Box Office for Fifth Week, Nears $2 Billion Milestone

Chinese animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2 is still ruling the global box office for the fifth consecutive weekend, pulling in an estimated $67.9 million across five markets, according to Comscore. The sequel’s total earnings now stand at a whopping $1.99 billion, making it the seventh-highest-grossing film of all time — surpassing Spider-Man: No Way Home ($1.95 billion).

With this milestone, Ne Zha 2 has become the highest-grossing animated movie globally, ahead of Inside Out 2 ($1.70 billion). The film earned $65.5 million in China alone during its fifth weekend, with an additional $1.8 million from North America.

Mickey 17 Makes Strong Debut in South Korea 🇰🇷

Bong Joon-ho’s highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Mickey 17, starring Robert Pattinson, opened in South Korea with an estimated $9 million — making it the biggest opening for a Warner Bros film in the country since 2019.

The film dominated the South Korean box office with a 70% market share, but its debut still fell short compared to Bong’s 2019 Oscar-winning film Parasite, which opened with $20.8 million.

Mickey 17 is set to hit 66 more markets — including North America, China, UK, and Australia — later this week.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy Nears $100M Mark

The fourth installment in the Bridget Jones franchise continues to shine, raking in $15.7 million across 78 international markets this weekend, pushing its global total to $96.9 million.

The romantic comedy topped charts in Germany, Austria, and Italy, with the UK/Ireland still leading the film’s earnings at $45.6 million.

Captain America: Brave New World Remains Top Hollywood Title

Marvel’s latest superhero flick is still holding strong with $33.8 million this weekend, bringing its worldwide tally to $341.8 million — making it the highest-grossing Hollywood film of 2025 so far.

Paddington In Peru Keeps Winning Hearts

The third Paddington movie added another $9.7 million globally, with its total now at $164.4 million. The film is still yet to open in Japan, one of its strongest markets, which could push it closer to $250 million worldwide.
