The highly anticipated Suits spin-off, Suits LA, is off to a blazing start — already attracting more viewers than the original series did during Meghan Markle’s time on the show.
According to reports, the premiere episode, which aired on February 23 on NBC, pulled in a combined 4.7 million viewers across live TV and streaming on Peacock. This number is expected to rise even further as more delayed viewing data rolls in.
Suits LA Outshines Meghan Markle’s Era
When Suits first debuted in 2011, the legal drama averaged 4.6 million viewers in its first season. However, by the time Meghan Markle left the show in 2017 to marry Prince Harry, the show’s viewership had plummeted — averaging just 1.3 million viewers in her final season.
If Suits LA continues on this upward trajectory, it could officially surpass the original show in ratings, marking a significant win for the franchise.
Meghan Markle’s Potential Return?
Despite the show’s success without her, Suits creator Aaron Korsh has left the door wide open for Meghan’s return. Speaking to People Magazine, he said:
“If Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.”
However, Korsh admitted that having Meghan return as herself would be too far-fetched for the storyline.
Suits’ Netflix Comeback
Although the original series ended in 2019, Suits found a second life after landing on Netflix in 2023. It broke streaming records with 45 billion minutes of watch time — making it one of the most-watched shows on the platform that year.
Even Meghan herself described the show’s resurgence as “wild” during an appearance at Variety’s Power of Women event in November 2023.
Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Show
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex is gearing up for the release of her new Netflix docuseries titled “With Love, Meghan”, set to premiere on March 4, 2025.
The show was initially scheduled to drop on January 15 but was delayed following the devastating LA wildfires.
