Nigerian music legend D’banj has finally answered the burning question on everyone’s lips — will he ever work with Don Jazzy again?
The Oliver Twist crooner confirmed that a reunion with Don Jazzy is on the way, hinting that the long-awaited collaboration will happen at the “right time.”
Speaking in a recent interview with Saturday Beats, D’banj assured fans that both he and Don Jazzy are aware of the public demand for a joint project.
“We know that the people want that, and we know we are going to give the people that. But it is important to do it at the right time. And there’s no better time than now.”
If the reunion happens, it will be a massive moment for Afrobeats history, marking the return of one of Nigeria’s most iconic musical partnerships under the legendary Mo’Hits Records.
Supporting the Next Generation
D’banj also spoke about his latest project — the CREAM Platform, a talent discovery and empowerment initiative. He recently signed popular skit maker turned singer Nasboi as a brand ambassador, calling him the perfect representation of what the platform stands for.
“Nasboi started as a musician but found fame through comedy. Now, he’s back to chasing his dreams. That’s what the CREAM platform is about—helping young talents harness their skills and discover themselves.”
Another rising star from the platform is Berri Tiga, who uploaded his first song on CREAM when he was just 17. Today, he’s one of Nigeria’s most promising artists.
Tech Entrepreneur Journey
Celebrating 21 years in the music industry, D’banj admitted that transitioning into tech entrepreneurship has been one of his toughest challenges yet.
“It’s not been easy. I had to go back to school, build a strong tech team, and find great partners. But my vision has always been to create a platform that makes it easier for the next generation.”
New Music Coming
Fans can expect even more from D’banj this year. The singer revealed he is working on the deluxe version of his latest album, with several collaborations on the way — including some with artists from the CREAM Platform.
With a Don Jazzy reunion on the horizon and fresh music on the way, 2025 might just be the year the Koko Master reclaims his throne.
