Nigerian singer Jaywon has found himself under fire after sharing a heartfelt tweet praising Afrobeats superstar Davido ahead of his upcoming album, ‘5IVE’.
Jaywon, who recently attended the 67th Grammys as an Academy member, took to X (formerly Twitter) to shower accolades on Davido, describing him as the realest and coolest guy ever. He added that if people truly knew the singer, they would love him even more.
In his tweet, Jaywon wrote:
“I don’t argue with people about my brother @davido because you don’t truly know him. I bet if you did, you would love him even more. He’s the realest and coolest guy ever. Patiently waiting for 5IVE like say na my own! #5IVE”
However, the harmless tweet quickly sparked controversy, with many social media users — especially Davido’s fans — accusing Jaywon of trying to gain favours from OBO by hyping him online.
