Megan Thee Stallion has officially been granted the right to question Tory Lanez under oath for the first time since he shot her in both feet nearly five years ago. A federal judge approved the order, allowing Megan, born Megan Pete, to depose Lanez remotely while he serves his 10-year prison sentence in California.
The deposition is part of Megan’s ongoing defamation and cyberstalking lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz (Milagro Cooper), who she accuses of spreading false and harmful rumors about her as Lanez’s “paid surrogate.”
Tory Lanez Could Plead the Fifth
While Megan has the right to attend the deposition, it’s unclear how much Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, will actually say. Since he is appealing his conviction, he may choose to invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination rather than answer direct questions about the shooting.
Megan’s Legal Battle Against Milagro Gramz
Megan sued Milagro Gramz in October, alleging the blogger ran a smear campaign against her, falsely claiming she was an alcoholic who needed a guardian and even promoting a deepfake pornographic video of her.
Cooper, who supported Lanez throughout his trial, denies any ties to the rapper but recently failed to get the lawsuit dismissed. A judge ruled that Megan had made a strong case that Cooper acted with a reckless disregard for the truth, allowing the case to move forward.
Restraining Order Against Tory Lanez
In addition to the lawsuit, Megan recently secured a five-year restraining order against Lanez, citing continued harassment and intimidation from both him and his supporters. The judge ruled that Lanez must stay at least 100 yards away from Megan and cease all threats and harassment until at least January 9, 2030.
