Nigerian rapper and activist Ruggedman has weighed in on the issue of domestic violence in relationships, emphasizing that provocations leading to violence are a major red flag.
In a recent interview with TVC, the music star revealed his personal stance on handling conflicts in relationships. He shared that he always warns his partners in advance that if a situation ever pushes him to the point of violence, the relationship is over.
“I Would Rather Walk Away Than Hit Someone”
Ruggedman recounted an experience where he ended a relationship after his partner pushed him in public during an argument. Despite asking her to wait until they got home to resolve the issue, she escalated the situation, prompting him to walk away.
He also addressed why many people remain in abusive relationships, pointing out that some individuals ignore red flags due to personal benefits or fear of public opinion. However, he warned that staying in a toxic relationship could have fatal consequences.
“It’s better to leave because if you die in an abusive relationship, people will still talk.”
Ruggedman’s message serves as a reminder that self-respect and personal safety should always come first in any relationship.
