Nigerian comedian Ijuo has just pulled off an epic feat, performing stand-up comedy non-stop for 50 hours! The record-breaking attempt, which began on February 14 at Banex Mall in Lekki, Lagos, saw the entertainer push past exhaustion to hit his target on Sunday, with fans celebrating the incredible moment.
A Record-Breaking Laugh-a-Thon
Ijuo’s marathon comedy session surpasses the current Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy show, which stands at 40 hours and 8 minutes, set by American comedian David Scott in 2013. However, his achievement is still pending official verification from GWR.
Comedy for a Cause
This wasn’t just about breaking records—Ijuo had a bigger mission. He launched the attempt to raise $1 million for his Talent City Naija (TCN) project, a creative hub designed to nurture and support Nigeria’s most skilled young talents.
“Talent City Naija is my vision to create a space where Nigeria’s most creative minds can live, work, and showcase their skills on a global stage,” Ijuo explained.
What’s Next?
With the attempt now completed, all eyes are on Guinness World Records for official confirmation. If verified, Ijuo will cement his name in history as the new comedy endurance king!
For now, it’s cheers, applause, and well-earned rest for Nigeria’s latest record-breaker. Stay tuned for updates!
