Nottingham Forest manager, Nuno Espírito Santo, is confident that Ola Aina will soon commit to a new contract with the club.
Currently in the final five months of his existing deal, Aina’s future at the Tricky Trees has been a topic of speculation, as the defender risks leaving on a free transfer this summer if no agreement is reached before the season ends.
With players like Santiago Murillo and Chris Wood recently extending their stays at Forest, Aina’s situation has gained attention. However, Santo reassured fans and reporters during a press conference on Thursday, revealing that the club is in good discussions with Aina.
“I think there will be good news,” said Santo. “Things are going well. I am positive and confident everything is going to be solved.”
Aina, who joined Nottingham Forest on a one-year contract in 2023, had his deal extended by the club last summer for an additional year. With both parties reportedly in agreement, it appears the Nigerian international will be staying for the long term.
Forest fans will be hoping that an official announcement on the contract extension will follow soon.
