Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the outcome of the club’s 115 charges of alleged financial rule breaches will be made public in one month⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾.

Possible Punishments for Man City

If found guilty, City could face a points deduction or even expulsion from the Premier League, as per league regulations⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾.

Guardiola Defends City’s Spending

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Guardiola dismissed claims that the club’s £170m January spending spree was a response to a potential transfer embargo⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾.

City made four major signings in the winter window:

Omar Marmoush

Abdukodir Khusanov

Vitor Reis

Nico Gonzalez

However, Guardiola argued that City’s spending is unfairly criticized due to their wealthy owners⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾.

“In the last five years, we are the team with the lowest net spend among the top six. Even after this window, we are still behind Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, and even Liverpool,” he said⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾.

The City boss remains confident in the club’s position and urged fairness in the discussions surrounding their finances⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾.

“People always say it’s ‘just about the money’ with this club. But I think in one month, there will be a verdict, and then we’ll see what happens,” Guardiola added⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾.
