Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate Tolanibaj has opened up about her decision to relocate to Nigeria, describing it as “one of the best choices” she has ever made.
In a post shared on her X (formerly Twitter) page, the reality star revealed that moving back to Nigeria didn’t initially make sense, but she followed her instincts and took the risk.
Tolanibaj, who was born in Chicago, Illinois, relocated to Nigeria in December 2018 to pursue a career in entertainment. Her bold move paid off when she shot to fame as a contestant in the BBNaija ‘Lockdown’ edition (2020) and later returned for the ‘All Stars’ edition (2023).
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed gratitude for the timing of her move, saying:
“Honestly, one of the best choices I ever made in life was relocating to Nigeria. I’m grateful to God for the timing of my move. The thought of moving didn’t make complete sense to me at the time, but it just felt right & I took the risk. It’s been six interesting years, and I couldn’t be happier.”
Her revelation comes at a time when many young Nigerians are leaving the country in search of better opportunities abroad—a trend widely known as “japa.” However, for Tolanibaj, coming back home turned out to be her best decision yet.
