Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has adjusted his travel plans and is now set to return to Abuja in the third week of February, top officials have confirmed.
Originally scheduled to arrive this week, Chelle’s delayed return comes as he continues to strategize behind the scenes for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.
Critical Meetings Upon Arrival
Once back in Nigeria, Chelle will meet with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and other key stakeholders to discuss the team’s preparations for the must-win qualifiers.
The Super Eagles have struggled in their World Cup qualifying campaign so far, failing to secure a victory in four matches. Now, all eyes are on Chelle to turn things around as Nigeria prepares to face:
• Rwanda on March 21 in Kigali
• Zimbabwe on March 25 in Uyo
With the qualifiers resuming in full force, Chelle is expected to make crucial tactical adjustments to ensure Nigeria gets back on track for a place in the 2026 World Cup.
