Move over, Kris Jenner—Kim Kardashian is stepping into the momager role, whether she likes it or not! With 11-year-old North West making waves in show business, Kim is navigating the fine line between protecting her daughter’s childhood and supporting her creative ambitions.
On the latest episode of World’s First Podcast, Kim revealed how she and her family carefully discuss every opportunity that comes North’s way, from magazine covers to music collaborations. “She’ll get an offer to do a photo shoot, and we really sit and talk about it as a family,” Kim shared. “Like, ‘Should she do this? What’s too much? What’s not?’”
Balancing fame and motherhood isn’t easy—especially when your kids are already born into the spotlight. “I try to protect them and be mindful of them being their own people,” Kim explained. “I don’t want them to feel like they have to be in our shadows.”
But make no mistake—North isn’t being pushed into anything. According to Kim, her daughter wants to take on these projects, whether it’s rapping on FKA Twigs’ new song Childlike Things or gracing the cover of Interview Magazine. “She genuinely wants to do it,” Kim said, adding that her other kids are just as excited when they land voiceover gigs.
Still, stepping into the manager role has been overwhelming for Kim, who admitted she’s “not ready” for full-on momager duties. “There’s so much that I’ve stopped because it’s too much,” she confessed. “I’m kind of forced into this.”
One thing’s for sure—North West is already a star in the making, and with Kim Kardashian as her guide, she’s got the best of both worlds: a mom who knows the industry inside and out and one who’s determined to let her shine on her own terms.
