Nollywood superstar Funke Akindele has officially been named the highest-grossing lead actress of 2024, thanks to the phenomenal success of her movie Everybody Loves Jenifa, which earned a record-breaking N1.125 billion at the box office.
The announcement was made by FilmOne Entertainment on Monday via Instagram, where the movie distribution giant celebrated the top 10 highest-grossing Nollywood actresses of the year. Their post highlighted the incredible talent, determination, and star power of these actresses who have achieved box office milestones.
“These leading ladies have made box office history! From record-shattering lead actresses to captivating supporting roles, we celebrate their talent, grit, and impact,” the post read.
Here are the Top 10 Highest-Grossing Nollywood Lead Actresses of 2024:
1. Funke Akindele – Everybody Loves Jenifa (N1.125 billion)
2. Wunmi Toriola – Queen Lateefah (N365 million)
3. Toyin Abraham – Alakada: Bad and Boujee and American Japa (N266 million)
4. Tomike Adeoye – Ajosepo (N257 million)
5. Eniola Ajao – Beast of Two Worlds: Ajakaju (N253 million)
6. Kehinde Bankole – Funmilayo Ransom Kuti and Blacksmith (N222 million)
7. Adunni Ade – Lakatabu (N202 million)

In the supporting actress category, Omotunde Adebowale and Juliana Olayode claimed the top spots, followed by Mercy Aigbe and Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori.
Everybody Loves Jenifa also became the highest-grossing movie of all time in West Africa, earning an incredible N1.6 billion just a month after its release. The film is the latest installment in the beloved Jenifa franchise, which has been entertaining audiences since its debut in 2008.
