Bruno Mars has officially made history, becoming the first artist in Spotify’s history to reach 150 million monthly listeners, a groundbreaking achievement announced on January 27. Currently, Mars sits at the top of Spotify’s charts as the number one artist globally.

This milestone follows an impressive series of record-breaking moments for Mars. His collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Die With a Smile,” became the fastest song to reach one billion streams on the platform, further solidifying his dominance. Soon after, his collaboration with ROSÉ, “APT.,” also reached the one billion stream mark, making Mars the artist behind the two fastest songs to achieve this feat.

Mars has now amassed 17 songs that have surpassed one billion Spotify streams, with hits like “That’s What I Like,” “Locked Out of Heaven,” and “Just the Way You Are” in his catalog. His enduring popularity is reflected not only in his streaming success but also in his Billboard achievements.

On the Billboard charts, “Die With a Smile” spent an impressive four weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, even five months after its release, while also dominating the Billboard Global 200 for eight weeks. The song marked Mars’ ninth No. 1 on the Hot 100 and Gaga’s sixth.

Meanwhile, his track “APT.” topped the Billboard Japan Hot 100, becoming the first song by a Western artist to rule the Japanese chart in over a decade. It also spent 11 weeks at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. This marks another milestone as the first song by a prominent K-pop act to hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart.

With these milestones, Bruno Mars continues to cement his legacy as one of the most influential and successful artists of his generation.
